Parent Involvement Opportunities

We maintain an open-door policy. Visits are welcome anytime. We invite your whole family to be involved within our school. However, to comply with NLNS policy and state law, volunteer must have background checks. Please fill out your criminal background and child abuse checks (links included). Here are some suggestions of areas where you might like to be involved:

Sharing Interests and Talents
If you have a hobby, pet, talent or profession you would be willing to share with the children; or if you have a special interest in helping with art projects, music, foreign language, story-telling, drama, etc., please contact your child’s teacher or the Director so that a time can be arranged.

Helping With Special Occasions
Your teacher(s) will post special sign-up for holiday party treats or help needed (such as chaperones for field trips). We do appreciate involvement during these times.

Birthdays
Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to bring in a treat on his/her birthday.

Organizational Help
We have several fundraisers throughout the year, and we would appreciate any parental involvement, from running and organizing a fundraiser to volunteering to participate on a smaller level.

Playground and Classroom Improvement
There are often improvements we would like to make on the playground and in the classroom. If you have ideas, and can help in this area please let us know. We also need help with our garden, weeding and occasionally planting..

Photography
Copies of your photos from special events are always appreciated.

Please remember that help can come from anyone in your family! We would love to have involvement from moms, dads, older brothers and sisters and grandparents too!
