Lambs - 2 Year Olds

Our 2-year old class offers a 2-day or 3-day option. Our Lambs are introduced to basic alphabetical and mathematical concepts, such as recognition of letters, numbers and shapes. Circle time in the Lambs is short and fun, often including songs, fingerplays, and stories. Moving from parallel play to peer-engaged play is a milestone of this age. Lambs grow in receptive and expressive language, body awareness and social skills as they learn through sensory play and guided activities.

A Positive Approach to Classroom Management

NLNS has a proactive approach to classroom management. Staff members create a positive classroom atmosphere by stating clear expectations and praising desired behaviors. Negative behaviors are viewed as indicators of a need for instruction. Correction is specific and instructive, and is often paired with an opportunity to “try again”. Ongoing communication between school and home is an integral component of our classroom management philosophy and practices.
